"Commitment to Excellence"

|Message from Principal Ms. Robbin Luck|
|The staff and students at East Clinton Middle School are excited and proud of our work and accomplishments these past three years. I am extremely excited about the many activities and events we have planned for the 2014-2015 school year. Some of the highlights include ECMS positive behavior rewards program, additional computers and Compass Learning enrichment and intervention. Again this school year, Math and English Language Arts (ELA) courses will be double periods of 84 minutes of class time. We will use an eight period day this year to offer intervention and enrichment to our students. All students will participate in the Learning.Com program to enhance our student's ability to navigate and utilize computer technology applications and improve skills for our next generation of tests. Cell phones will be utilized to further educational technology in the classroom.
Starting in February of 2015, all state mandated testing will be computer based. Sixth grade students will take ELA, Math and Social Studies. Seventh grade students will take ELA and Math, and in eighth grade, they will be taking ELA, Math and Science. We feel very confident that with the technology we have in place, our students will be well prepared for this new round of state testing.
Numerous extra-curricular activities are offered as a vital part of the middle school experience. There are athletic teams, band, student council, spelling bee and a variety of others to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Our school district motto is, "Champions and Ambassadors," and our building expectation is "TEAM" (Together Everyone Achieves More). The students will hear and see this daily. These represent a shared commitment on everyone's part to do what is expected to achieve and be successful.
We have high expectations here at ECMS for both our students and staff. In collaboration with parental efforts, we can continue to achieve success the "Astro Way."
Please feel free to contact me and I look forward to serving our children.
